Barcelos Explains It All: Quidditch, Gender, and the Three Words We Couldn’t Say

I’m not allowed to say the words “Men are trash” on Facebook, but this is my blog and I do what I want. On the second episode of Barcelos Explains It All, Ra Hopkins and I talked about what we mean when we say that men are trash, what toxic masculinity actually means, and how all of that applies to quidditch, a sport that prides itself on gender inclusivity.

While we took on what it means to be a minority gender participant in quidditch — I’m a woman and Ra is greygender — I think everyone can learn something from this. Man, woman, none of the above, broomstick athlete or not.
