Getting back into my writing routine means writing routine things. I missed writing last month’s resolution update in both senses of the word: it never got written and I felt its absence.

April always sneaks up on me. March starts off as a leisurely month. Rainy day relaxation now that the drought is over. Sunshine returns with daylight savings. Then, the end starts to creep up on me and say, “Surprise! You’re birthday’s here!”

No one likes feeling like a failure, so I like setting qualitative resolutions. They’re easier to stick to, and when I do occasionally slip up, they’re easy to get going again.
