We’re into the second half of the year now and I’ll be real with you: I haven’t thought about these resolutions since the last time I wrote about them. But hey, at least writing this monthly post is a good reminder to myself?
Getting back into my writing routine means writing routine things. I missed writing last month’s resolution update in both senses of the word: it never got written and I felt its absence.
April always sneaks up on me. March starts off as a leisurely month. Rainy day relaxation now that the drought is over. Sunshine returns with daylight savings. Then, the end starts to creep up on me and say, “Surprise! You’re birthday’s here!”
Funny how January seems to drag on for centuries while February passes by in the blink of an eye. This February proved that to be especially true.
No one likes feeling like a failure, so I like setting qualitative resolutions. They’re easier to stick to, and when I do occasionally slip up, they’re easy to get going again.
Time for my final resolution update! Instead of looking at how well I stuck to them over the last month, I’ll be taking more of a big picture look instead.
The end of 2018 is creeping up on us, but until then, I plan on enjoying Thanksgiving season (back off and wait your turn, Christmas) as I try to finish the year strong.
I should have taken the Green Day route and slept through last month until someone came around to wake me up when September ends.
My mother hates when I say, “I’m sorry.” I never used to understand that until recently.
It’s Salted Caramel Mocha season (pumpkin spice who?) which means it’s time for my annual “Holy shit, how is it fall already?” moment.
